Welcome to Child and Nature!

"I sincerely believe that for the child, and for the parent seeking to guide him, it is not half so important to know as to feel when introducing a young child to the natural world. If facts are the seeds that later produce knowledge and wisdom, then the emotions and the impressions of the senses are the fertile soil in which the seeds must grow."

-Rachel Carson, A Sense of Wonder

Activities for Opening to Nature with Heart, Hand, and Mind

We offer custom-designed, place-based programs and educational tools that help people feel a part of their natural surroundings. For: Schools • Museums • Camps • Other Sites

We teach about nature at the same time that we introduce games and activities that promote feeling a part of the natural world. Restlessness and distraction interfere with enjoying natural settings. We use simple meditation, sports, and play-based learning to help people get to the heart of nature.
